PhD Research

My PhD, completed in 2009, was carried out at Wimbledon College of Art in collaboration with National Life Stories,

the oral history section of the British Library. The research involved recording 23 in-depth life story

interviews with British theatre designers. These form the basis of my thesis, which focuses on the

development of theatre design education and practice during the second half of the twentieth century.
